Discusses general principles of building with wood and the considerations that need to be addressed. Not only are seismic regions, wind loads and snow loads, soil conditions and frost depth, orientation and solar radiation important, but also temperature, humidity, rain and the interior climate. These last four factors are typically the reason for moisture and mold problems in an otherwise solidly built structure. Goes into detail on how to build in different regions depending on temperature, rain and humidity levels.
